About Me: My name is Mrs. Karly Behrendt! My husband, Trevin and I live in Seward with our dog, Moose! I teach Kindergarten, 3-6, Junior High, and High School Vocal Music at Centennial! I have lived in Nebraska my whole life, and was raised in the small town of Boelus. In May of 2019, I graduated from Doane University with my Bachelor of Arts Degree, and this past Summer I continued working towards my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I hope to graduate in May 2021! I'll be coaching Junior High Volleyball as well this year!
I am super honored to be teaching your music student! I can't wait to pass on what I've learned into the music classroom to create a fun and welcoming environment! It will be an exciting adventure for both me and your student. I'm sure I'll learn just as much from your student as they will learn from me. I look forward to watching your student progress throughout their Kindergarten through Senior Year of High School. We're going to have so much fun in the classroom and I can't wait to see what the year holds!
Because music does not have a lot of take home activities, I plan to show you just what we are up to on a day to day basis! I'd love for you to check back throughout the year to see projects and pictures of what your student is working on in class!
If you ever have any questions please feel free to reach out to me! Under the contact tab, my information is listed! I'd be happy to talk! Thank you so much, again, for allowing me to teach your student music.

Class Materials: Throughout the year we will be learning a lot about music by singing, playing, dancing, and designing projects! The materials your student will need will be provided to them at school, and if something additional is needed, I will let you know.
-To foster a love of learning about music and how it can connect all different types of people. -To help students work as a team to achieve their goals and celebrate together in their successes. -To build a supportive classroom atmosphere of "we" rather than "me" -To create a place where all students are welcomed, and can have fun and be themselves. -To develop each student's skills that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.
